Pupil Premium
South Lake Primary School – Pupil Premium Funding
At South Lake, all members of staff and the governing body take responsibility for ‘disadvantaged pupils’ and are committed to meeting their pastoral, social and academic needs within a caring and nurturing environment. It is essential that we enable each child to develop a love of learning and acquire skills and abilities, which will benefit them into adulthood, allowing them to reach their full potential.
Our ultimate objectives are:
- To narrow the attainment gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils. Children to make accelerated progress.
- To narrow the language gap between disadvantaged and non-disadvantaged pupils.
- To bring attendance of pupil premium children in line with national expectations.
- To increase cultural capital opportunities, to further develop language and mental well- being.
At South Lake, we believe that every child is entitled to succeed. We have used research information and considered the needs of our own pupils in deciding the most effective way to use the Pupil Premium Grant.
Schools receive a payment (Pupil Premium Grant – PPG) for children in particular categories as follows:
- Children who are currently eligible or have been eligible in the past 6 years for Free School Meals (FSM)
- Looked After Children
- Children of members of the Armed Forces
The funding is used to support the learning, development and achievement of these children.
